That's a fair point. At present it seems like acquisition of anything, regional or major, carries a lot of financial risk. But long term, I'd think that the company isn't looking to reduce its profitability. What do you see as the pros/cons of a wholly owned vs outsourced right now?
if some of the routes aren’t profitable, operating at a loss , direct affect on bottom line numbers .
Who they would buy ? I don’t know, maybe commutair since they already own a portion of them , just buy them completely I guess . But if Kirby put that clause in there , it’s there for a reason.

PBS works differently at other carriers mainly because the pilot contracts are different. Also, there are people who actually know how it works here but, as usual, they're drowned out by the loudest crew room "experts" who don't even know how to bid, let alone how their bid is processed.

Rising tide? I wish the best for the UAL FAs. My wife spoke with the cabin crew at length last fall during a Euro flight (she’s SWA).
FAs at SWA have line bidding as well. Plus, there is no restriction on putting money on trips to give them away, no flight minimums per month (they keep insurance and travel benefits as well).
They voted in (81%) a four year contract with a 22.3% pay raise with retro and step increases, increased holiday pay, paid maternity/parental leave and some other stuff I can’t remember. My wife voted no for the record.
PBS was not in it. Are there any airlines where FAs use PBS?

Well, you can’t wholly own that regional unless pilots on the United SL are staffing it, so I don’t think this is likely.

If it’s in there it’s in there for a reason. Could be something like buying commute air and adding their pilots to our list . Just spit balling: idk if there’s much demand for their current fleet though
