Not going to happen. Get your panties in a bunch over something else instead like the FlightDeck app . It allow anyone to see your acars messages. If it’s a security issue, how is this allowed?
Alpa should put a stop to this ASAP .

I assume because of the difference in age makeup of the UA pilot list vs the B6 pilot list, plus the fact that quite a few B6ers went to UA in the last 9 years, who would now be junior to folks that they were senior to at B6. UA has also hired a lot more post-COVID than B6.

Jet Blue’s debt is too sketchy for UA to touch it right now………the current fuel prices alone will make B6 flirt with CH11 soon.

& AAs debt level isnt sketchy?

for the record I’m at B6 and think a strategic bankruptcy before any kind of M&A

Everything has a price. Alaska’s market cap is more than twice JB’s. Want a good balance sheet? That’s gonna cost you. Willing to take JBLU with some rough edges? Bargain price

$9-10B in debt is more than just a “rough edge”. That’s several years of profit at UAL. No way we touch them without them doing a lap through BK first.

Did you play Monopoly growing up? Not really what’s emphasized during an acquisition. It’s about pricing power gains which result in higher margins. It’s why SK dreams of an unrealistic acquisition with American—he’s thinking about profits.

Most likely mergers IMHO— UA/JB, AA/AS.

What should happen? Let JB bleed like Spirit and the Big 4 can acquire the slots organically.

Agreed, UA/AA would be an Aeroflot fantasy scenario giving the combined carrier incredible pricing power. Even if the US approved it there would be enormous ripple effects globally (TATL JVs, alliances, etc) and I am not sure Europe would be in the mood to play along.

UA/JB would give the next best bang for the buck, allowing UA to increase pricing power in the BOS/JFK areas in particular and further pushing AA into irrelevance.

AA/AS would be a smart combo, and the AS mgmt team could likely turn things around better than Isom has.
