If a new hire is assigned Guam, does CAL help with any moving expenses? TIA!

Honestly if UAL manages to get their act together (e.g. ditch ALPA), ditching for SWA could really come back to bite him in the bum later.

Sorry if my post wasn't clear. Those numbers take into account all people, whether staffed in that BES already or bidding it now, who have submitted that as their choice for this system bid. Doesn't mean all those people are bidding INTO the BES. THAT WOULD REALLY BE MOVEMENT!

I was just attempting to show how many positions of the total available had been bid on or filled by current CAL pilots. The difference is how many are potentially available to be filled by UAL pilots.

The junior 737 FO base has moved around quite a bit in the past several bids. GUM used to be, but then there was a big stretch where no one was going to GUM when they got hired. Appears most of the junior furloughed-recalled CAL guys who were assigned GUM have bid out of it if they chose to. Time will tell on the next snap shot and the final system bid award where the junior FO base will be.

Are all the 737's treated as one fleet? I saw that the-500&-700 had a different pay rate than the -800&-900. Does it just depend what you happened to fly on each trip?
At UAL, 757-67 was all the same fleet, and pay. But CAL has 757 with the 738&9, and the 767 with the 777. Just curious how that works.

Yes, the 737s are all one fleet and you operate all of them. 737-500/700/800/900/900ER. The 500/700 pay under the SNB and the 800/900/900ER pay the LNB rate (like the 757-200/300). Each leg you fly pays the respective rate depending on aircraft. Monthly guarantee, training, vacation, and deadhead pay a blended rate which is 80% LNB/20% SNB.

I'm not really sure how it will work for the UAL guys that come over. Since all will be at their previous UAL rate, I don't think you guys had different rates in the same category. So it might be one rate for everything until your CAL longevity catches up? Hopefully we are all one list, one contract long before that even is an issue anyway!

As was mentioned by luv757 above, you will get paid the pay rate for the airplanes you fly during a trip. At the end of the month that will be compared to your monthly guarantee which is calculated using the blended rate. If you are a line holder who only flew 72 hours, to make it simple, you will get paid the higher of guarantee or what you actually flew.

Example:

72 hours @ SNB 5 year rate = $6022.80
72 hours @ Blended 5 year = $6666.48 (Monthly guarantee)
72 hours @ LNB 5 year rate = $6827.04

So, a really junior 737 FO who didn't do any LNB flying during the month (hardly likely but it could happen) will get paid the guarantee. A senior 737 FO who managed to bid and get awarded all LNB flying will make over guarantee in terms of dollar value. Of course, this all works in various combinations of flying the SNB and LNB 737s.

You get paid by leg. Fly an 800/900, you get Large Narrow (LN) body pay for that leg, same category as 757. Fly a 500/700, you get Small Narrow (SM) body pay for that leg.

APC has pay rates: Airline Pilot Central - Continental | Legacy

Thank you for the explanations. I was just curious. If I take the recall, I will be bringing my crappy UAL pay rate over, and I'm guessing it will be the same no matter what jet I fly.

Thats a big IF! Personally I'd jump ship to SWA if they hired me in a heartbeat!
