Ok, noted...opinion diversity and democracy are both beautiful things.

I always laugh when people say "We should be paid what we are worth." There is a big difference between what people usually think they are worth, and what they are actually worth. We are worth industry average. That is what the market has decided our wages should be. I believe we should be paid towards the top of the industry, but not far and above everyone else. Industry is also relative. FedEx and UPS are not part of our industry. They are cargo airlines which is a far different industry than passenger airlines.

I just don't want to see United negotiate another C2000, then take massive pay cuts and furloughs just a few years later because of it. I'd rather get Delta + 1 and be industry leading.
Carl, your opinion might be worth something if you actually participated. We all know that you don't pay union dues for 'religious' reasons. You actually have no standing to comment one way or the other. You are a hypocrite of enormous proportion!

Delta +1 with UAL work rules is most certainly NOT industry leading. You can say that you don't think we should get more than Delta +1, but you are just dead WRONG that it's industry leading in any way. Give me ONE example of DAL+1 being industry leading. Pay? SWA. Scope? Ummmm... everyone BUT DAL. Retirement? Nope. Work rules? Nope.

Dues?? See above. I'm asking you point blank: Do you pay union dues or not?

SWA is a good place to start when comparing pay, but a GREAT place to start when comparing scope. I'd settle for SWA's scope clause as is!

Some random guy called me Carl a few months ago, and now everyone says I don't pay union dues. So let me be clear.

My name is not Carl.
I'm not even sure who Carl is.
I do pay my union dues.

As for who I am, I will not give out my name on a public message board. I'm 6'6". That ought to narrow it down pretty good if anyone really wants to know who I am.

Actually, it's good for those new to the industry to witness the mentality of IAHFLYER. The more he types, the more his true colors show.

Again we find someone who believes C2000 was responsible for UAL'S ch11 filing. Nevermind 9/11, the dot com bust, and outsourcing on steroids.

Sounds like another special pilot with an "industry average" mentality.

So you don't think c2000 contributed to the ch-11 filing?

I always thought iahliar was just a guy locked in his step mom's basement watching Star Trek reruns and playing on the computer.

I guess he's less than that. Can you say MANAGEMENT....

Personally, I think the airlines would have filed for BK even if their pilots still had the previous contracts. The crisis was too good to waste.
