Quote: Hey thanks for your replies, is it CBT style work at your own pace? Or like the old appendix H classroom stuff?
All CAL equipment is CBT style training for the aircraft specific stuff (IE systems)....even the "oral exam" is a CBT.

You don't have to go to the training center to do it. I did mine on my laptop in my hotel room in my underwear drinking beer. Quality training.

We are doing fmc stuff in a cbt format with 2 instructors. Waste if you have fmc time. Last 8-1130. Then most go back to hotel and work on systems cbt. Also a waste. CBS is where training will start and I think there are 9. Basically timing like original 320 program which was two weeks to long and the add another week or two

For the CAL people in training now--

I arrive Nov 29th and was wondering how easy it was to trade bases or aircraft. I have read a lot of postts to the effect that it is easy, but has it been done?

Also, what does it cost for a family for medical insurance?

Thanks,
FMT

Don't believe anyone has traded yet as they got what they wanted. While your in training they said would be easy to trade especially same A/C. Would think for a different one you would have to trade with the class 1 before and 1 after.
Medical costs are similar to UAL with a lot of choices for service and pricing.
Have 45 days from when you start to choose. 2012 elections start in Nov.

In November the calls will go out for those classes. The details are described in the latest Furlough Newsletter.

I am not in training but here's some info for ya;

There is a procedure for trading bases but I haven't used it before. Basically you post an index card with the trade info on a bulletin board in the crew rooms for pilots to view. If nobody in the base objects to the trade it will be allowed. For a period of time there was an individual who contested every trade in his subbase, (IAH).

Congratulations to everyone, enjoy the schoolhouse.
