No. As made abundantly clear by all the UAL rhetoric and CAL-bashing I've read on this forum and have heard elsewhere, until there's a JCBA and an SLI there's CAL and UAL pilot groups. And you can drop the pretentious "L-" prefix.
What a load. The few UAL furloughees I've flown with seemed like great guys and were pretty excited about being back on the line - any line. If that's not your scene, fine, no one is forcing you. CAL pilots didn't cause you to be furloughed, we didn't dictate the terms of your "indentured servitude", and we sure as hell aren't forcing you to accept. Your perfectly welcome to stay at home and continue smoking whatever merger conspiracy crack floats your boat. Happy pipe dreams.
P.S. The Stones Rule.

I'm one of the "new hires" now starting my 3rd month on the line. Rhetoric and Bashing on this forum and else where is a two way street. There is 5% at each "L" throwing hand grenades and 1% truths out there.

With that attitude you will always be a second class citizen. For the UAL furloughed flying with you, it's not because they want to. It's because they need to. It's a JOB!!!

JMD,
How is life on the line? Do you commute to reserve? How is the reserve system? I bypassed as I am under a contract for another year. It may end after that and I would be looking to accept their offer(if still available). Any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I don't care what you call your furlough (and most likely neither will an arbitrator) because we had nothing to do with it. I also don't care whether your interested in a "CAL job" or not (though I suspect a majority of UAL furloughees won't be returning to a UAL job either), just realize there was more than a little oppostion to it at CAL at the time and it was essentially put to us that it would, in fact, be included in the TPA because essentially it was just "the right thing to do." I do have a problem with people like "missintheline" who feel obligated to spit on that offer as "indentured servitude". If that's how he feels, fine, he's welcome to stay home and continue "missintheline" but it would be nice if he'd shut up about it. Otherwise, I seriously could not care less.

Flying out of Guam and been a line holder since day 1. Not sure how that happened. Came home after the second month 2 weeks ago. First commute back this week. Those on reserve out there can bid 36 on 24 off if they want.
Waiting on the system bid to get to LAX or DEN? hopefully. CP in Guam said the bid would be out 17 Jan. Big miss there.
