I know what your trying to say about being within 4:30 of guarantee but let me assure you they still fly the crap out of you. Once within the 4.5 you just don't get to pick what crap to fly, they have to assign it and believe me they will assign something.

Seems like they are doing this now just to do it. Ended last month within 3 hours of guarantee and requested to be released with one day left, good weather, and no open trips and they did not hesitate in FEBRUARY to put RMPG on my schedule when they wouldn't let me go.

Oh I believe you, I live it! Sad thing though is though is that crew scheduling didn't create this mess............................ But, like everything else in this industry, the people that create the messes don't have to deal with them, and then everyone else becomes the "bad guys". I'm just wondering how long this will go on before heads roll?

Anyone at cal late 90's to 9/11/01 reserve was great. Cal was staffed and hiring. I would drop turns on the end of trips almost on a monthly bases to get on my flight home. Pilots that bid res-no-fly didn't fly. Cal was always above min res coverage etc etc etc. 9/11/01 changed everything and that's what the junior pilots at cal have been living. Maximum productivity for maximum profit. Heads won't role because the mgt team that has created this problem 10+ plus years ago are still here. Sch is partly to blame because they do the job !!!!!!

PBS allowed them to do this. Carmen PBS was never considered for dismissal by CALALPA. In fact, they convinced the United pilots that it was the better system. Carmen PBS will still be screwing this combined pilot group under the joint contract.

Just Vote NO.

My point exactly. Maximum productivity for Max profit. That's what cal got with pbs and no work rules. Staffing post 9/11 is a big part of it. Cal could open up pbs if mgt would bring staffing levels up. I sighned up for 78-82 hours of flying and 15-17 days off a month. Cal wants the pilot to give 90+, and they don't really care how many days off per month.

Thanks in advance.

When you get within 4.5 hours of guarantee you have to call them and give them the choice of either releasing you from remaining reserve days on the bid or they have to pay you at least 4.5 or whatever you fly, whatever is higher, for the remainder of bid month. They will never release you, so they put the code rmpg on you master schedule indicating that you have called. At that point if they don't use you, not likely, or assigns you a trip that averages 3 hours a day, you will get paid 4.5 a day. Of course if your trip average's more then 4.5 a day you will get the higher of course. You have to call the day prior the next reserve day by 9am, i think, to get it for that next day. Also it must be done for each work block. One call only covers one work block.

Pay wise it means that your pay guarantee of 76 hours for a B reserve could become 80:30, 85:00, etc. for however many days you have remaining when you get to within 4:30 of your monthly guarantee.
