....Don't trip all over yourselves.

On CAL's CCS Home Screen:
If you are a B737 Captain or First Officer in IAH, EWR, CLE, LAX or GUM that does a straight pickup of a full trip pairing from open time that originates on March 3, 2012 through March 5, 2012, that pickup will be treated as a “voluntary junior manning” (VJM) event and you will be paid a minimum of 4:30/day or flight time flown, whichever is greater, at 150% of your normal hourly rate.

Please note that this offer does not apply to pairings acquired over this timeframe as a trip trade. The eligibility of “trip splits” for this program will be subject to crew scheduling approval at the time the split is executed.

In all fairness if we are going to condemn anyone accepting JRM then we need to do the same for anyone trading into anything that increases their monthly time credit value by even one single minute above their original line award.

Lol, I just know what to think about this apparent dichotomy. It's this kind of analysis that spurs great debate, angst, accusations, and division. Idealists will be quick to point out that no one should benefit from anything regardless whether such a decision is afforded to them by the current contract (of course many of them are currently on the street). Realists are branded as $cabs and anti-unity advocates whose sole intent is to ingratiate themselves at the expense of their brothers and sisters.

So much to consider. LMAO.

Funy thing though.............if you are within 4:30 of your min pay guarantee on reserve (76 hours for B reserve), they shut you down so you can't make ANY money, but they'll beg and plead for a line holder to fly and make 150% to INCREASE their pay. And they plan to take the EXCESS reserves to staff the new ORD/DEN bases! Only thing is..............THEIR ARE NO EXCESS RESERVES.................we have NO RESERVES available! BRILLIANT! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! LOL Hopefully someone gets fired over this pathetic staffing model..............

Somebody was--Debbie McCoy several years ago. Funny thing though, they have kept her policy in place ever since. It's simply making them too much money.

If you recall, it was the loss of CRAF flying due to staffing that led to her demise! CAL lost a lot of money because of her/CAL's shortsighted approach to doing business... Kind of like UAL/CAL leading into Summer 2012, Retirement sicktime drawdown, and ultimately retirements. It will get progressively worse...!

You mean it wasn't her idea of a redesigned flight attendant uniform?

Supposedly the "cut back" of B737 pilots in EWR is also costing the company upwards of $50 MILLION a year in extra hotel rooms and DH'ing. If this is true, then they have PLENTY of money to give us an incredible contract. This place reminds me of the USAF.............screw up and move up.............

BTW............reserve CA's in EWR already at -1 for today! Looks like the summer is going to be HELL for the travelers this year. But don't worry, we're WELL STAFFED!
