Base Closing?
Rumors running wild that Denver may close as a crew base. I have connections, and management has said that Denver will be a 737 base, and A32o will move to Houston. Are pilots base protected? Has anyone heard that Denver is closing. Rumors is all I have.

Rumors and nonsense, that's all we ever hear out of you, hesitant. If only you were true to your screen name when it came to posting.

Base Closing
This is what I heard from management in ORD. Several of the managers stick with their stories. It is worth confirming since many parties including management are known for starting these things. I have also heard this from pilots. Starting a thread like this may be a good way to get people in the know to confirm.

So here's a helpful hint: rumors at an airline are dime-a-dozen, and just because they come from a "manager" means jack. Even less so if you are hearing from a manager at one airline what is supposedly happening at another. Pilot rumors are even worse. And pilot rumors spread at a training building are guaranteed to be <5% accurate.
But there is a nugget of truth in every rumor and just like every other merger in history aircraft will be swapped around the system to optimize the network. CAL is now opening small 737 pilot bases in DEN and ORD while UAL is opening a small A320 base in IAH. All this is simply a precursor to the day when UCH is one airline and pilots will bid whatever seat/fleet/base their seniority can hold regardless of which aircraft came from which predecessor.

Here is a link to the unconfirmed rumor. Notice it references documents. This is still only a rumor, but I know management has also said the A320 base is closing. I know people all over the airline industry, and U seems to have the most rumors, so who knows.

That article was from june 2011 and quoted Michael Boyd, a handful of flight attendants and a ramper. Go away, troll.

Based on this post, I'm gonna make the simple assumption that you are new to this industry and not a UCH pilot.

No reason
Hey, there should be no reason for defensiveness here. These rumors get started and there is normally some truth to them. Posting, and asking for confirmation usually clears these things up. I had a link that I tried to post that spells it out pretty well.
