FWIW, I flew with a "bigwig" UAL management type guy 3 days ago and he basically confirmed that the CAL LEC leak was pretty much accurate in regards to pay (DAL), scope (DAL), & "SIGNING BONUS" ($400M - 2/3 then 1/3). Of course in my 15yrs at UAL I have learned to never believe a damn thing that comes out of the mouths of mgt types so I will wait till I see it for myself. You did NOT hear this from me

And when I was doing the TK thing I was at a meeting where it was confirmed by the VP of Flt Ops at the time that we had inked a deal with Airbus it was done and signed. That we were getting rid of all the 400's and the 777's and replacing them with A-340-600's. Pack your bags and get ready to head over to Toluse for transition training.

A DONE deal........

That was like 8 years ago. Anybody seen any A-340's on the property? ANYBODY? Once I see the TA I'll comment on it and what's in it, until that moment it's all 100% pure conjecture AKA bull chit!

Call it a bonus if you want call it hush money, call it whatever makes your hair curl, but Jeff boy, if it isn't the correct amount it's a BFN vote.

TA?

How about we get an AIP on Scope and Compensation before we announce an overall AIP!

I find it very interesting to announce an AIP when 2 of the major sections are not "Agreed To In Principle"! See recent MEC blastmail with chart! Seems like a political stunt before the election to save face for Obummer?

IMHO, an "AIP" is pure nonsense.

No final language in ALL sections:
NO AGREEMENT!

Political stunt? What does Obama care about 12,000 overpaid pilots? He has much bigger issues than that.

Does anyone know if the mec's have been working on integration behind closed doors that last couple years? Or is this prohibited in some way?

Integration? Of what? The MECs/LECs? Seniority lists?

The SLI process, if that is what you mean, has started with exchange of seniority lists, information about each and certification of each. That's pretty much all the two independent merger committees can do together under our Transition and Process Agreement. There has been no negotiations with each other on what the proposed combined seniority list will look like. However, that does not prevent each independent merger committee from working alone to draft their own proposals and come up with scenarios to use when actual joint face-to-face SLI negotiations take place. As was mentioned in the update above, until the MECs have approved a TA to be sent out for membership ratification (or rejection) the merger committees cannot start negotiating the SLI. If the membership rejects the TA, then once again the merger committees must stop their work together until a new TA is reached.

This process has all been laid out to prevent another USAirways/America West debacle. Look how long that has been going on and it's still not resolved and only about to get more complicated if the AA merger comes to fruition. In the meantime, the USAirways pilots have left tons of $$$ on the table and many of them are about to start retiring with nothing to show for the past few years of stagnation.
