So, every time there is a system bid and vacancies in L-CAL, they have to go through the entire list of L-UAL furloughs before they can offer a class to off-the-street pilot? How much time do all 1069 have, do they give them a week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks,... to reply?

Not the whole list. Now that every pilot has been officially notified it's their responsibility to notify CAL if they wish to accept the offer.

I can only assume, it is a phone call or email, not an official recall by FedEx letter, since it is a job offer at a "different", for now airline, and once SSL and JCBA is in effect, it will be an official recall, once vacancies becomes system wide. Am I correct?

Basically. Once the JCBA and SLI are in place it will presumably be an "official" recall to UAL and they will be placed wherever the SLI put them.

Do L-UAL pilots, that take a job offer at L-CAL, get a "deal" in pay and benefits, such as: longevity pay, 2nd year pay, etc, or some other thing?

Sort of; it's kind of a mess. They are not on probation and have full benefits from day one. But they are also at the bottom of the CAL list in their UAL seniority order. A "senior" (cough) furloughee that previously bypassed the offer could have a couple hundred pilots below them if they accept a class now. Their pay is the higher of whatever they last held at UAL or their longevity at CAL. We had L-UAL 777 CAPTAINS that took voluntary furlough and subsequently accepted the offer so they were at the bottom of the CAL FO list pulling 777 CA pay. In contrast, we also have first year UAL pilots who nearly completed first year pay and are now starting the clock again at CAL.

Another question, what happens to L-UAL furlough pilots that work now in L-CAL, how will they be integrated into the SSL, or will they have an option to compare relative seniority between 2007 L-UAL or today's L-CAL?

Per the TPA, accepting or declining the CAL offer has ZERO function in regard to SLI. The UAL pilots will be placed according to their UAL seniority. In addition, any future off-the-street hires will be placed after every single pilot on both CAL and UAL lists.

How are you able to see vacancies on this snapshot? All I see is a list of pilots with current and awarded seats.

Some BES awards don't go all the way to 100%, it'll stop at 75% or 80% which means that no one else bid it - ie: it'll go to new hires.

jumppilot beat me to it but,

If any seat's last pilot doesn't have "100%" next to it then there are vacancies to fill in that seat.

Also, the system bid shows a "min" number of pilots to be assigned to each seat. If the rank order of the last pilot is less than that "min" then the difference between the two are the number of vacancies to fill in that seat.

I just looked at the final award too...I don't think there's a way to tell how many new hires / vacancies. But maybe I don't know how to read it right.

Sorry. Looked on Coair couldn't find the result. Could someone post the final numbers? Thanks.
