Agree, although I am currently being replaced by CAL pilots on a Denver bid that I have no access to. Den is our most senior large domicile (by far), and I have Captain seniority in Denver, yet I can't bid it while we shrink. CAL is doing the same UAL flying in 737's that I did in (get this...) 737's only 3 years ago. What a f'ing @$% sandwich this has become. Also heard that nearly half of the 737 CAP bids so far on the CAL side in DEN are scabs. Nice. Salt in the wound.

FWIW, from a 17 year UAL line puke that has given up enormously to stay based in DEN and driving to work.

Remember that UAL is flying out of "CAL" hubs too. It's going both ways. Also remember the CAL bases in LA and DEN in the past. Some airline that I won't mention, drove them out. Many of these pilots still commute from there. They are just returning home. Just remember that the pilots from either airline have no say in any of this. My own qualilty of life has suffered greatly during this merger. I'm just along for the ride.

Every United employee wore small green lapel pins that said TORQUE, allegedly meaning “Try Our Real Quality United Experience.” But the Journal reporters revealed that on the back of every pin was a Continental plane with a giant screw rammed through the “golden tail.” Some brazen United employees organized a “Torque Force,” running a vicious ground game to “tighten the screws on Continental,” hustling Continental passengers standing in lines, taking rental car shuttles and even in parking lots. Continental countered with bonus miles in its OnePass program for United flyers who switched. The competition and dirty tricks made it too much “like the OK Corral.”

The damage goes both ways. You live and fly in DEN so that's what you see. The pilots in IAH and EWR losing the 767 flying, and 737 to EMBs for that matter, are getting a bite of the same **** sandwich.

So far the only fleet that hasn't been hit is the EWR 777 base. It's the only one that looks the same pre and post merger. Who knows how long that will last.

The difference is CAL is growing and UAL is shrinking. It isn't the same. I was furloughed from the 737 in LAX 9 years ago and hope to get it as a new hire at CAL in the new bid. This place sucks.
