Say Sunday is a day off, Monday is day 1 of an A RSV block.
I understand A can be converted to B. Must this occur by 1500 Sunday?
If it doesn't, I'm not phone contactable until 0001 Monday, right?,
and then still 9 hour show if still A, right?
If converted to B at 1500 Sunday will be assigned a phone period for Monday, as early as what? If not converted to B at 1500, am a free person until at least 0901 Monday, but must answer phone at 0001 Monday. Eh?
Maybe the clear writing of a new TA will make such
questions obsolete.
Sometimes this is the best place for advice. Thanks

My understanding homie:
A can be converted anytime with either a trip and or the short call window.
What sux is if they give u a 9 hr callout trip at , lets say 2000 sun, good luck commuting by plane in for a 0500 mon show. So many ways to be or get out of position. These rules suck if u dont live in base

From the contract:
3. Except when released to a Rest Period, a pilot awarded an “A” reserve Line must be contactable continuously twenty-four (24) hours a day, beginning at 0001 LBT of his first Reserve Day.
and
5. An “A” Reserve may not be required to report for a Trip Pairing or to begin a phone availability period less than nine (9) hours from the first attempt at contact by Crew Scheduling, or when he first becomes contactable on his first day of duty

A converted to B before you begin you reserve blocks. You need to check your schedule after 1500. If nothing is on your schedule, print it out and you do not have to answer the phone until 0001 LBT. If they call an try and convert you to B after 1500 and before 0001 before you begin your reserve block, don't answer, your not obligated to.

If you're talking about after 1500 on the day off before a reserve day, then no, as flybynuts said.
