Lowest man on the seniority list, or more appropriately the lowest seniority in new hire class. You're the eight-ball until the next class shows up. There are certain responsibilities placed on the eight-ball. It should be worn like a badge of honor.

At CAL it was tradition to give the youngest, which was most junior person, a pacifier or like to wear around the neck. They had coffee duties and such. It was all in good fun. The eight ball is trying to come back at CAL. I think it may evolve when all combined and off street hiring happens. Traditions, in good taste, are a great way to build a group.

Don't forget all the missions to "kidnap" the ball and hold it for ransom (Pizza Party for the class) and the bowling shirt that has all the class signatures on it.......
The best part is the thumb drive that is hidden in the ball, trust me you want that intel.......
Good luck to all future 8 Ballers!
I have been lucky enough to swipe the ball away and hold it ransom--be careful when you are getting coffee, sitting on the crew bus, eating lunch--guard it with your life!

The behavior of those 2 individuals is just unbelievable.
There are MANY things to hate about United Airlines. Since I was hired almost thirteen years ago I can count the GOOD experiences I've had on ONE hand. The 8 ball ceremony is at the top of the list.
I will be at CAL in "new hire" class shortly. Nothing would make me happier than to be the 8 ball in my class. And if anyone thinks they're too bloody cool to participate, I will happily volunteer for the honor.
Long live the ball!
