I've been making excuses like a battered woman for over a decade now:

It's not their fault.
They have no control.
They won't do it again.
They're sorry.
They promise to make things right.
It's actually my fault for getting hired when I did.

I'm finished.
Nice rant.

Why do you say "they", when it's really "you?"

What have you done to make things better?

A union is only as good as it's membership and the volunteers who chip in to get the job done. If you don't like the results, chip in and make a positive contribution.
I'll be happy to volunteer when I know I am not carrying water for the sociopaths at the MEC and National level. Until then...thanks for the magazine.

I am not selling anything. Not withstanding the vocal minority, most of the pilots are bright enough to figure this out. I am just calling it for what it is, not pandering to the furloughed pilots as you are doing.

The best choice for them is to get an ISL. They need to get back on the property as soon as possible, before something else happens. A turn down doesn't help them. No doubt the LOA was bad politics, but it won't matter to an Arbitrator, it is not going to change anything.

Keep up your attack on the union reps, soon no one with brains will want the abuse and you can have the job. Which ever way the pilots vote, I will support the decision can you say the same?

Oh! you are a 570, in that case...never mind.

USAPA could use some new members.

At least you know they're not representing your regional lift.

Baron50, yes I get it that you don't like me, fine I can live with that no problem. As far as me accepting the contract when it is approved, yes I will do that. Do I think we could have done better, yes much and have stated so in other areas of this forum.

Do I like how we are represented, no, have I stated that yes. Do you get under my skin with the fleet qu coment, yep. All I said that started this again was I get tired of the alpa comment which someone made about what have you done for alpa as far as volunteering, yes I get tired of that comment as it has been used too long. I don't know many "line" pilots that don't get tired of that comment.

These are my last comments on the subject so rip away.

Nope, I am finished trading insults, I accept your offer of detente. I don't dislike you. We probably agree on more than we disagree.

I too was unhappy with my representatives, that's how I became involved and ended up a long term ALPA volunteer. I learned to have a fairly thick skin, otherwise, it would have been impossible to do the work. The funny part of politics is that your enemy one day is your friend the next, depends on the issue. We will always accomplish more when we are unified, unfortunately when we air our dirty laundry on these forums it is to management's benefit.

Was this not true two years ago? Of course we need to get back. We didn't hear many non-furloughed folks saying this before this TA. The folks saying it now are really saying we need to get back only because it helps the everyone else on the non-furlougheed ual side in the isl process.

It is absolutely true that the union prefers to have furloughees back instead of new hires off of the street at CAL. Most of the folks saying that furloughees need to get back sooner than later because the sky is going to fall are less than genuine in their concern.
