Not that I was happy with the contract but it is in place now and I'm just looking forward. It's over and done with.

That being said at least another positive out of the contract is the minimum 5 hours per day. Now on reserve if you are flown 15 days during the month you will automatically get paid above guarantee. Hopefully that will do away with reserves flying all those low-time unproductive trips in open-time for barely guarantee pay.

See Section 5-G of the contract where it talks about minimum pay values that apply to trips. These apply to all pilots since they apply to "trips" and not lineholders vs. reserves. In addition, this provision was pointed out in the TA education literature distributed by the union. Examples were made at the TA roadshow about this provision and it was specifically stated that now a reserve who is used for all 18 days of reserve (can you say under-staffed summer again??) will get a minimum of 90 hours of pay.

LOA 26 states that Section 5-G-1 (1:2 rig), 5-G-2 (M5D) and 5-G-5 will go into effect for the third full bid period after DOS (i.e. March). M5D will initially be pay only per the LOA until the September bid period where the rig is applied (I think for credit/line building....err, monthly preferencing purposes in PBS).

If in doubt about what I've said call the union. It has been stated on more than one occasion that M5D applies to all trips for all pilots. Don't think there's any reason to be skeptalytical.

Thanks for the info. I was looking for something more monochromatic. I guess in my skepto-psychedelic state I couldn't see it. Too much bubonic chronic perhaps. Plus, I don't trust the company an inch to offer up something to the reserves that they aren't contractually required to. If this is absolute it will make being on reserve much more palatable. I have flown many 18 day months without ever breaking guarantee.
