Ok, I see that now. It's weird, I'd be more senior on the 756 by about 10%. I guess we're losing most of the 767 flying out of Houston though and some of the 2 pilot 757 flying looks like hard work.

Question.

If awarded 75/76 EWR. how long would it take to be 75/76 IAH?
not just on paper, but actually flying out of there.

do you have to wait until next system bid?
this one that just came out is for 2014.

so you could get it on paper on next bid 6 months from now, and not actually move until second half of 2014?

or if they have openings there in next few months, can you put it on a monthly standing bid, and be over there by this summer. or would those openings go to new hires this summer?

thanks.

It depends on SLI and when it happens. If it takes awhile, you would either have to wait until next system bid and ask for earliest advance (for this last system bid the earliest move is April) or do a base trade with someone in Houston for Newark, which you can post immediately in the CPO office.

Otherwise, if the SLI happens before the next system bid, we're moving to vacancy bidding which is monthly by my understanding.

Thought I read L-cal was going to vacancy bidding prior to SLI... Where does it say otherwise?

At which point if you do not have a training or advancement date for this system bid, then your award is canceled and you will bid for any vacancies in your current position. Example, if you are currently a EWR 756 FO who held EWR 777 FO on this bid, but you do not have a training class date by the first vacancy bid after SLI then you are going to be a 756 FO bidding for your next position as if you were never awarded EWR 777 FO.

AllIn,
Until the SLI, these are some of your options to get to IAH,
1. Submit a base trade with IAH pilot that wants to go to EWR.Under the old contract there was a 30 day waiting period before it was effective. I know the base trade blocking has been changed but I'm not sure about the wait time.

2. If you are holding EWR 756, you will have to wait until the next bid to bid IAH. It shouldn't be a problem as right now there are a ton of open spots in IAH for the 756 (FO). The company will base adva de you to IAH when they need you (provided it is before the effective date of the bid).

3. Request a hardship. If approved you will be placed at the bottom of the IAH list regardless of seniority.

Good luck.

Do they have to begin training or just have a training date? What constitutes training? What it's an advancement date? Sorry for all the questions, just curious. Thx.

They need a training date. Training dates for Dec are usually handed out jun-jul. SlI is forecast to be done in September. Most of the CAL bid should have dates by then.
