FEB 12 hiring update
#23
I have absoluetly no letters of rec at UAL but it is a place I would love to work obviously. With no letters or connections, I would think that it might take another year or two to have a chance but who knows. Good to hear about the hiring

I have no idea for sure, but was assuming the "skills assessment" was going to be a sim ride of some sort?
When I was hired, they used a Frasca fixed base sim. Back then you had to have your scan in tip top shape.....otherwise it was tough to make it thru.
Really tested the scan and was worthless otherwise. Not a real good assessment, in my opinion.

Need to start networking somewhere. If it is at all like previous CAL you pretty much can't get hired without one or more.

A few classes of previous poolies in the spring, very little training during summer peak. ISL will happen late July or August at which you'll see many more furloughees return taking up training spots through the fall.
(UAL furloughees exercising recall rights in not the same as accepting a CAL job).
I agree with the guess that it's going to be a while before UAL sees street hires en masse.

these 500 are the total so far? (ie since they started offering CAL jobs to furloughed UAL pilots)
this is not the number of those that already accepted upcoming classes, as they mention "available class dates"?
