Grumble, assuming you've got internal recs, unless we've totally taken hiring away from pilots and handed it to HR, I'd bet a good chunk of cash a FW mil guy with a clean record will move pretty high on the list. Don't sweat the "outside activities" which might be code for WIA and OBAP and applies to a relative handful. Then again, I'm not involved in the process and having watched the "can you top this" act from management over the last three years, nothing is beyond belief at UniCal.

For those who got a call for interview, was there any sort of telephone screening/tech questions asked during the phone conversation? Or was it all confirmation of interest and contact info verification?
It was stated on APC that UAL used to do some tech questions during the initial phone call.
Good luck all!

Not first hand yet, but a friend told me someone he knew was called and it was very simple. Set up the interview a week and a half after the call.

This. With a rumored 8000 apps on file, lets say 1/4 of them meet the criteria for the first round of calls. Someone said they're only calling 300 to start, so that means you had about a 1 in 7 chance of getting the email assuming we knew what the first round criteria was.
I'm in the same boat, nothing. For the most part we're all type A personalities that are used to making things happen, but in this case we all have to just sit and wait, and keep updating hoping for the call. As painful as that is!

Still, I'm hoping to not get overlooked.
Keep your chin up boys, we're just at the beginning of the wave.
