Why is that?

No question our management leaders did the right thing.

But comments from the CHAIRMAN and others like him/her make me wonder about that.

... United stopped being a great airline a long, long time ago. Sorry that crappy CAL had to offer your furloughs a job. I truly believe Continental would of been hiring and continued our organic growth.

Don't be so quick to give away the contract you just spent 4 years negotiating. Enforce the contract, and insist on it.

Don't take my comments the wrong way. I didn't say it was a crappy offer. We are all one pilot group on 2 lists right now and will be happy when the SLI is done. Just disagree that those are new hires. As the company can do anything it wants to grow on side and stagnate the other. Get the SLI done and get on the same page is all.

PS
I will be on the bottom either way

I hear ya. I gotta say there are some really good arguments on both sides of the fence.

... This forum is going to be pretty boring once the SLI is done.

I don't know. Lawsuits, court dates, rulings, ALPA decert efforts, and the irregular but certain industry crises will keep it going.

On the cal side people still argue over People's Express, Fmr, cal express, New York air, rocky, etc. That's what makes mergers and integration so much fun; it gives pilots something to argue about until the day they die!

Beat me to it, especially the ones who now work for management. Of course they were all hired together, what a coincidence.
