With regards to pay rates:
From my earliest days as a pilot, I have always said that I do not want to work for the company with the highest labor costs in the industry. Historically that has turned out to be a losing situation.
Furthermore, as has been mentioned over and over and over, my vote and most UAL yes votes were a vote to end the tyranny of the CAL-MEC and little else mattered. On that issue we will simply have to agree to disagree.
Finally, the contract was tentatively agreed to prior to the announcement of the new DAL contract, and the pay rates we have are above the previous DAL contract. If someone believes the company would have negotiated a pay rate based on a DAL contract not yet signed I think they are ignoring reality. The fact that DAL leapfrogged our rates immediately after our contract was announced is good for everyone.

Completely wrong on all counts about DAL contract. Their extension passed before we even had an agreement in principal or TA or whatever other BS term ALPA fed us. But don't let facts get in the way of your solid argument that 737 guys got more then the poor neglected widebody guys in this POS contract.

Exactly Snarge, You hit it on the head !!!!!... Depends on your perspective...Is there a problem when my perspective is different than yours? Post it here and watch what happens. Maybe if some of us realized there are sometimes others with different views things would go easier. Some people can attack someone or a side hard, but at the same point can't accept the fall out of criticism when it returns to them. So the Tyranny statement of the CAL MEC is in my perspective way off base... I do take in to account the statements' origin and what prejudice might be behind it and I do find it funny...
