Thanks for posting LAX Pilot. Because I'm not the sharpest tool, this is a current UAL only bid before SLI right?

What I posted was L-UAL on the UAL side. The L-CAL side of United has their own. I think its 20 Guppy Captains and 20 Guppy FOs or something like that.

So its 42-40 total for the 1st bid. The United Guppy base used to have about 400 pilots out of it so it could end up being a big base again.

Thanks for the info, I'll try to check back for the awards from this bid. Seems like a plus for west coasters from here, but again that's not being in your shoes.

It just seems like it would be easier to use the "7" and the "3" key to call the plane what it is, rather than typing g-u-p-p-y every stinking time.

Remember, you don't hear other airlines calling it the Guppy (which really is an Airbus product anyway). It's only you L-UAL guys.

IAH has 107 F/O slots open on the 756? Does that number seem high? ****?

For the 747 and 787 there could be.
I think he is talking about the arbitrators decision about advancing training when you have an award like it was in DAL/NWA (CAL request) or requiring a training date to keep your award (UAL request).

Also, in the MOU all training will not be cancelled post SLI as it says:
"The following awards will not be cancelled:

-Any award that is past the effective date of the associated system or vacancy bid."

This means the 13-08 pilots will still be trained if they have not already. I heard there is about 100 of these pilots left.

Not true...I am a guppy f/o..cal hired. I have called it a guppy for years and still do..and will always. It's so not a slam to my airplane, I also call the 747 the whale..787 is sparky, md80/90 is a mad dog...sorry if it offends you, it's not a slam.

The B756 combine total (IAH/EWR) seemed high......12/204 (CA/FO).
Could that be due to the impending L-UA B757-200 yard-sale to FedEx to absorb some of the numbers

Did the Scarab get a workout over the summer??
