But now the payrates are different, the 737-700 pays the same as the 319 and the 737-8-9-9er pays the same as the 320, 321, 757-200. It has been great to see some flying come back to the 737. Due to the combined passengers of both airlines into many small markets, the 737 has taken back many markets from the RJ's! RIC, ROC, BUF come to mind! Let's realize that this is a good trend, or we can carry the old mindset of 'too small to fly at mainline' and continue to degrade the mainline profession. I have flown with many guppy FO's that have been making 20-30k these months (Yes, I saw pay screens!) plus b-fund and only flying 80ish hrs but crediting close to 200. Don't discount the 737, and let's try and make RJ's the new guppy at mainline!

So now the questions are-
How old are yours?
What kind of shape are they in?
Have they been upgraded with WiFi, Lie Flats, new IFE systems?
Motch
PS> Iv'e always loved the Whale. Classic looking airplane.. and there must be a niche market for them on certain routes. Was hoping we'd order a dozen or so -8's, but not looking like it anymore~ oh well..

This was a question on Trivial Pursuit 20 years ago.... "If the 747 is a whale, what's a 737" Answer: guppy
747=whale
737=guppy
Bus=fifi, (talk about a derogatory term...but what a sweet ride)
It's not a derogatory term, chill. The TA is what's insulting.

What improvements over the JCBA do you think we would have achieved by voting it down? Any guess as to the time it would have taken given the Jeff and CAL side had not desire for a contract?

It just seems like it would be easier to use the "7" and the "3" key to call the plane what it is, rather than typing g-u-p-p-y every stinking time.
Remember, you don't hear other airlines calling it the Guppy (which really is an Airbus product anyway). It's only you L-UAL guys.

When someone says "we 737 drivers", just remember that that the UAL pilots are the original Guppy drivers, and most current sUAL pilots have significant Guppy experience.
