Default Flight attendant furloughs on the LUAL side?

Flight attendant told me that there is a plan to furlough 1900 LUAL F/A's. And continue to take on new hire F/A's on the LCAL side. Is this true?

I know some of our flight attendants are old, but I don't think we have any from 1900.

You never know....

Of course the really old ones are not the ones who would be getting the shaft..

Sounds like the latest edict from United's Morale Suppression Committee.

True, but can the company furlough or are they limited to seeking voluntary furloughs?

FA LOA's and VF's always have the good ones, who want to go and do something better, leave for greener pastures.

Last time they did this they got almost all the slots filled. Lots of FAs would love the chance to not work and still have the free travel.

They usually get to keep health benefits as well.

My understanding based on one crew is that it's not just a Vol Fur but a cross over offer as well. Meaning they can leave or work for L-CAL but if they choose cross over they go to the bottom. In addition I am lead to believe this is the second cross over and the first group is already off reserve. Given that we have FAs with 25 years doing A/B reserve rotation I think this is scandalous but par for the course.
