The company stole their pension and gutted their retirement medical benefits. The amount of cash they (and we) will have to pony up after retirement for medical coverage alone is significant and is forecast to increase dramatically.

Why did UAL Corp sign a contract that allowed them to be capped at 80 hours? Perhaps they saw some value in having a relatively well rested employee in the cabin? After all, they get to spend the whole flight as the face of the airline. If I were king of this joint, I would want them to be refreshed, valued, happy and incentivized."
