GoCats, excellent info that is very helpful for shaping expectations at home. An extended period of commuting or crash pad living at 40 something is not very appealing (too much added time away from kids). This appears to be further validation that my grand plan of living within driving distance of fly fishing in Colorado will have to wait a few years...(probably like many others with similar aspirations at UAL). I never thought I'd live in eastern PA, but that's sure what it's looking like. Thanks for your time and perspective.

Kinda....Many of us have purchased the Epic Pass.....unlimited ski/boarding at Vail, Breck, Keystone, and (bald) Beaver Creek. It's UAL's "get paid to ski" program. Unless you're in Chicago, in which case you can take part in UAL's "get paid to sit around and freeze your as off" program. :D

Some SFO 76T reserves are flying credit up to 120 hrs. Again, our flying hasn't changed much--yet...

There is hope for commuting on the 757 in EWR as a line holder. On reserve you can aggressive pick up as well as the long call option. Most of the junior trips are commutable on both ends. I was a bottom line holder on the 756 in EWR last summer and held nothing but commutable trips. The EWR 76T is a completely different animal. The problem is the domestic flying out of LGA and JFK. Mostly not commutable.

Hang on to that...the IT dept here will be hitting you up soon when they need another one..the current one being used is getting a very hard workout....
