Return from leave of absence latest....

Granted, a long time ago, but you're right, ATP wasn't required then, just the written.
Resume' just seems a little light for that time in aviation history with the "X" thousands of apps on file, the demographics that were being reported in the AirInc mag for new hire classes, and so on....
I know no one hired during that period that didn't have well beyond ATP mins, but, that was after I was hired so I might have missed the change.
Take care,
Lee

I will be coming back this summer as well. I have heard, but not read, that there is a grace period (three months?) that a company must give you after finishing mil-duty before you must report back.
I might go back to UCH right away, or I might take a short break. Wanted the right info before I asked someone in I-T and was given the wrong answer.

None really, although I started giving notice about a year out, just to start getting a feel for what I could hold. They were pretty good about working with me to get a REDOC class date. REDOC was about 4 days long, then right back into systems. You can get your pubs 30 days prior to start date, I would recommend doing all the CBTs before showing up, so then you can leave on your scheduled academic CBT days. Talk to Miki in Houston CPO, she's very easy to work with and can give you all the details.

FYI, This was posted in the Poolie thread.
From the ORD ALPA Scheduling Committee Report (4/3/14):
From the ORD ALPA Scheduling Committee Report (4/3/14):
The 737 fleet is scheduled to increase at ORD and possibly the Company may open a DCA 737 base next year.
The Company is expecting pilot shortages this summer, especially 737 Captain and 756 FO positions. If you hold one of these positions and have been awarded a vacancy bid, the Company has said that they will not release you from your position for training until September or after. You will be pay protected or you can take a displacement per the UPA.
For those that have received a 737 FO vacancy award, training will be pushed back until at least September. No new hires will be offered 737 FO positions until after the summer. All recalls and new hires will be given 76T and 320 positions. All 737 training thru August will be for Captain positions only. Captains will be paired with Captains on all 737 training until at least September.
The Company had anticipated winding down training by June to have all pilots available to fly the line for the summer. Because of poor planning, that has been pushed to July.
The Company will take a look at manpower levels after August. At that time, they will start the realignment of the staffing to try to properly allocate the pilot manpower. This may entail vacancy bids and/or displacements.

Thanks for the info. They have me in the full indoc course for 5 days then 4 more days. On the fifth day of the first week, they show a base tour at DEN. I am going to be back at IAH. Is this a 2 hour block you can skip? Also, how many hours per day did they pay you while waiting to get you back in training. I.E. I am going back on the first but don't start training until the 6th. I gave them about 2 months notice I was returning. Agreed on the IAH CPO. They've been very helpful so far.

Section 12 of the UPA is very specific about the pilot's, and the company's responsibility when a pilot returns from leave. If you hit all the requirements of that section, your pay should start no later than 15 days after you've notified the company that you're ready (and medically qualified) to return. Read section 12 to make sure that you met the requirements.

Went through the process in March coming off of mil leave. Pay wise. You ger paid 2.8 hrs/day from the time you say that you are available until the get you into class. Once in class (BI) then the pay goes to 3.0 hrs/day plus perdiem. Classes were running tues-Sat first week and Tues-Friday second week. Not sure on the tour. We had a tour of the building early in the program, if they are taking the class to the domicle to walk through the office then that is a change to the current program. After indoc many of us were in fleet specific training the Monday after BI was complete.
