What other companies besides M and H and pops are there that sell UAL leather jackets? I know there is a place in San Diego too. Does anyone have the their name?

I have the Gibson and Barnes from pre merger. Bought the M+H one to try and returned it. I've got a patch with the embroidered wings on them because taking the freaking metal ones off and on was a huge pain. For me this is the better solution

Got the MH $50 off in IAH because they made a bunch with incorrectly spaced pin holes (jackets were made before the wings were made). They sewed a Velcro strip to cover the holes then sold them at a discount. Some may still be available. I snipped the pins off of a set of wings and stuck some Velcro on the back to attach to jacket. Looks nice and has worked well. Also, I had a seamstress add a button to the cuff for a snugger fit around the wrist. Don't need the liner.

Did the same (velcro strip) with the Gibson and Barnes jacket. One patch has my metal wings, another a Coors Light logo (for the layover quick change). Works great.

I got mine at Pop's Leather. If you're standing in Manhattan waiting for the bus transfer because you got another LGA, the liner comes in handy...

I'd pass on a Pop's Leather jacket and not because their not good.
If your jacket arrives and it doesn't fit or there is a problem with it your stuck.

How do I know? Because I bought one and it didn't fit so I called and email Pop's Leather many times trying to get my situation resolved. I never received a return call, never. I received two return emails, one asking for pictures and one saying they were going to ship a new jacket. Well they went as fare as creating a shipping label but that's about it.

Try calling the #800 on the Pop's Leather website...it's an answering service for two companies. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company in an attempt to get the situation resolved.

If the jacket is perfect for you you'll have a great jacket but if it isn't don't expect any resolution.

wow.. talk about timing.
I too order a custom jacket from Pops back in the 1st week of Dec. Having dealt with them from my times in Incirlik, I really liked their work (Both my USAF A2 and a German WWII Luftwaffe Jacket they made).
Unfortunately, the jacket arrived too big. Did the phone call and sent an email. Got a response on the email but like CS said, no follow up on the email and no return calls.
I too have started a dispute with my (United) CC.

It's too bad, as the leather and workmanship is really top notch. Problem is, if it doesn't fit- then what?
Will be going with a Gibson & Barnes Jacket next.. but only if/when I can get down there a try some on myself.

At least those of you looking for options on the leather jacket now have a few recent updates.

Always
Motch

PS> If your a USAF guy who can get into Incirlik, I'd still recommend the jacket then~

My pops jacket is just a bit snug. I'm 5'8" 180lbs. Maybe a swap? It's a month old... EWR based, moving to DCA, live in PIT. Let me know if it might work out.
