76T has lost 4 more jets (757s) in the last 2 weeks. Count is down to 51.

Nah. Howard said another "displacement" or "base alignment" bid is coming soon. I've adopted to the new nomenclature.

Disclaimer

Airhoss, does not necessarily endorse or recommend the use of bumping or the term "bump". Bumping is and always will be the result of poor planning from management. Bumps will be good for some and horrible for others. However having been through this and having been actually bumped 5 times previously while at UAL. I can honestly say with the utmost confidence that......

No matter what PC, corporate, synergy centric, name you want to you call it, surplus, base realignment, right sizing, strategic pilot alignment....Whatever. A bump is a bumps is a bump! Somebody is getting thrown out of their seat whether they want it or not. And this is the first time in my career that people have voluntarily bumped because it affords the opportunity for advancement for some, not 100% career regression. That is extremely unusual. And of course some folks are going to get bent over because of this, lets not forget them either. A case of the "UAL suxs" is coming down for some folks here no doubt.

My personal situation is kind of up in the air. I have no idea at the moment where I am going to wind up. Putting a finer point on it, not sure where and what I'm willing to put myself through for this company any longer. Time will tell.

I would have agreed with you a few months ago. Since we are keeping extra 757/767's around and getting guppies at an accelerated rate, the need to bump has been reduced.

Nobody is more surprised than me!

The fleet plan has changed, so the bumps that are coming have been reduced.

Shocking!
