I just had cs approve my deviation AND authorize my PNR during the same phone call. This was just last week. No call to PSC required.

I've had that happen too, usually during a slow period of the day. CS can do it, they just usually don't.

Sounds like I just got lucky then. I'll admit that I don't DH much and when I do, since I'm not a commuter, I don't deviate much.

That sucks that they force you to make another call. The PSC is hard to get through to and it took the scheduler about 15 seconds to authorize my booking. Maybe not even 15 seconds! LOL

Sched's will only approve the PNR going to the assignment and the psc will approve the PNR going home. That has been my experience.
