Longer and stronger wingspan by about 4.5 feet to accommodate for new MTOW
Cruse Speed M0.791 vs M0.785
Improved leading and trailing edge flap systems
I've also read that the rear pressure bulkhead is actually flat as opposed to the traditionally curved pressure bulkhead which allows for more space in the cabin.

Most likely the approach climb limit weight.

REMF: Rear Echelon Mother F'er - a term coined during the Vietnam War for the "Saigon soldiers."

This is not Nam Smokey.

REMF: Remaining Fuel At touchdown expressed in endurance time and pounds of fuel. ...is what I meant. Just curious.

Thanks for the info, Sean. Probably couldn't do a packs off app in DEN without an apu? At least not advisable to sensitive pax ears.

811 would be a brand new 900ER.

In the event they filled it, you iced up, lost an engine, and had to wave off.... You woulda been screwed! Otherwise it's a great airplane 99% of the time. Just takes forever to load/unload. Had 188 SOB one the other day.
This day and age with the technology available those kind of penalties should yesterday's fish. Boeing quit serious engineering some time ago.

I had a very interesting discussion with a retired Boeing engineer on a flight a while back. Apparently, something very similar to what happened at UAL also happened to Boeing. When Boeing bought McDonnell Douglas, the McD management largely took over Boeing. According to him, the 787 debacle is largely due to their gross mismanagement. Sound familiar?

Do you work the same place I do? Yeah, we're making money in spite of ourselves, oil prices are primarily why, but we are lagging every other major in almost every metric. Most importantly, our customers hate us and are deserting in droves.

Do you have the numbers to back up your statements or is it your gut instinct? That record profit that was linked was for Q3 2014. Prior to fuel price decline. Our December RPM's were up slightly on 2.3% ASM increase. LF declined 1.9% due to the larger increase in ASM versus December "13. So overall we put more people in seats in December '14 versus "13. The numbers don't reflect those droves you mention.

I think calling a -900 an RJ is a little insulting to the RJ, don't you think? I mean, in 8 years of RJ flying I have never ever ever had to leave ~6% of my revenue seats empty because a weight restriction!
