Good point...but I think the gentleman who originally asked the question said he wanted to move to IAD area. If location is the prime consideration, I'd say take the 756. He can always bid down in 2 years.

I also think there will be some movement in IAD coming soon. They will be growing the guppy base by 100+ crews, they have yet to backfill any of the 777 FO slots that bid off two months ago, and sparky is bound to rear its ugly head soon in DC. Hopefully that will happen after the fence goes down.

How far West? I got hired in Oct and bid A320 SFO before I finished Indoc. I also just got LAX in this last bid (where I live). Lots of movement out here.

The drop was as advertised. 10 756, 5 a320, 5 737. The 73 and Airbus went senior. Bottom 9 guys got the 756.

8 ball was 29, most senior was around 50. Lots of guys in the 31-43 range.

Of the new hires, 12 guys were regional, 5 mil, 1 corporate.
6 guys alone were Expressjet. 2 regoinal guys were FOs with about 8 years experience.

Lowest time guy was a mil kc135 guy with 4800 hours. Highest time guy had 15000 hours.

I hope the Airbus guys aren't commuters.

We're still hiring F/O's? Why?

Why does the 756 go so junior?

Probably base selection after class. Not many 756 base openings west of IAD so anyone wanting to be based on the west coast is looking at the 737 and A320.

Because Human Resources has too much influence in the process.

HR strikes again

We were told that we would be on reserve on the 756 for much longer than the 737 and a320 and that hiring on the 756 was basically done for that fleet at the end of March through at least the end of the year.

Bases and getting out west was a big factor for some.

Being able to make more money on the 73 and 320 was also a big factor.

The seat lock was what others, including myself would have preferred not to have.

This is all good info for those of us about to start. Thank you!
