Apologies.

Clarify, how is no one hired now affiliated with United?

No one hired since the merger (now) is affiliated with L-UAL. They are only affiliated with United.

I'm just going to let this one go. I think your history/experience in these matters speak for itself. What I really want to say is not for public consumption. Fly safe.

Not sure what I said to upset you, but I'm a big believer in learning from our past. So if I need to learn something then PM me. That goes for everyone. I'm not trying to start a fight in fact I'm trying to prevent fights.

Master,

I'm not upset and would be more than happy to share a cockpit and buy you a beer on a layover. You're better served by witnessing yourself versus reading an anonymous post/pm on a public forum.

I want the NEW United to succeed because I have so much invested here. I hope to still be here when all of you are long retired. The people hired now have no affiliation with United, Continental, NY Air, Texas International, Frontier #1, Peoples Express, PanAM, Eastern, Braniff, TWA.......

The experience of the pilots I have flown with is amazing and I have, and will, continue to learn form that experience. But this holding on to the "old" way or not following the SOP because its stupid is not ok with me. The way it used to be done was perfectly safe but its not how its done now.

Don't you think we are doing the new hires a dis service by n
ot following the SOP they have less than 100 hrs flying under? What are we teaching these new guys/gals?
MOP,
Can you give me a specific example of an SOP that you have seen violated? You've been speaking in such generalities. I want to know an example so I can put it on a scale of Importance from 1-10. And I'm not saying one SOP is any more/less important than another. I just need a baseline to figure out to what degree the sky is falling.

Are we talking verbiage like Level change vs. FLCH...
Record keeping on the master flight plan...
Stabilized approaches...
MCP manipulation...
A checklist challenge / response
Which FMC page to have up for FP/NFP
What is it?

Check your PMs. A public forum is not the place to list specific examples. I have been speaking in generalities for this reason.
