Hopefully that won't come back to bite you in the butt.

I've see a lot of guys saying that they "deferred" and put off going to class lately. Do you guys understand seniority?

Even a few numbers can make a huge difference in a career.

I guess if you had some other commitment, it's honorable that you delayed.

I flew with a guy once who was the bottom pilot at UAL for 7 years. One more number and he would have been out of work.

Mind your own business. Do you understand that you patronizing pole smoker?

Congrats to you all for the new job!

What would be an "unofficial" old age limit at UAL these days? I'm a very young 57 and wonder if any of your classmates are at or even above my age?

Thanks

Kap

I met a 56 year old new hire a little while ago, so I wouldn't count yourself out. They try their hardest to make sure age discrimination doesn't take place.

Google "anagram".

Look at my user name.

I'll give you a minute…...:D

Wait, wait, let me guess....you work for Mesa?

Nobody should be offended by the term guppy. How is it any different than us calling it hoover or super hoover?

You should be offended because it's an overly optimized, engineered to death piece of manure with crappy flying qualities, an uncomfortable cockpit and takeoff and landing performance of an over gross B-47 with a motor pulled back to idle.

That jet needs a drag chute.

So, untied, do you really think anyone applying to a major airline misunderstands the importance of seniority?

You've shown your colors.

Absolutely.

I've met a few people over the course of my career who delayed class dates only to understand the importance much later.

Some were young, some were military who didn't have much experience with the civilian world.

A lot of people simply can't show up due to previous commitments…and that's fine.

I was in a race to get my number from the moment I left high school. I have some buddies who were a little more lax (some wouldn't take their FE written or didn't want to mess up their summer vacations), and they spent 10 years on furlough because of it.

So….yeah…..I know what I'm talking about.

Congrats to everyone in the class, and for your CJO at United. Would anyone like to set up a time to meet somewhere for a meal and beverage the evening of the 7th? If so, please PM me and we can start the process.
