Default Company asked for 2 year extension

MEC in special session in Chicago this week voted to not discuss it at this time.

Two year extension of what??

Not complying with the contract at this point, so do they mean they need an additional two years of not complying, before we can start to negotiate on what they won't comply with in the future!!

Yes, the contract, with unspecified pay raises and unspecified contract fixes.

I totally agree with you. Pound sound. Plenty of unfixed pay issues, scheduling issues, FDP extension issues, issues, issues, issues, that show they just could not care less about us comrade coworkers.

That they would even THINK of entertaining such a request shows how out of touch they are !!
If every single word of the UPA was being adhered to it STILL would be a HELL no during these profitable times.

There's really nothing to extend.

current market conditions (as well as expected market conditions) indicate a favorable negotiating stand point for pilots. Company needs to see what the price of labor is as well as labor rules. They are watching Delta, American, and Fed Ex to see what goes on. They are just stalling for time because they don't want to be the tail that wags the dog.

They did--not even think of entertaining it. They voted to not even discuss it.

Heck no. In 2 years market conditions could go from where they are now to extremely unfavorable Negotiate while the times are good. Great start for Munoz....who we haven't heard a single peep out of since he took over.

They don't have the resources to do all the contracts that need finishing. Can you imagine us getting contract #2, and the FA's still without?

Not my problem.

Listening costs us nothing. Massive pay raise, fix all current issues, and industry "redefining" in every area - then we can keep talking. Once the company deviates from that we go home and come back when Delta sets the bar.

These are the BEST times for us to negotiate a contract. We don't know where the industry will be in two years, much less two month. I say, listen to what Munoz has to say and go from there.
