Sounds like an opportunity for mentoring to me, I do believe that is CA's responsibility....no? :)

I have been on UAL forums since I was hired 2.5 years ago and have never visited any forum other than the Crew Room. Good info on there. You can figure out who the characters are pretty quickly and take their posts with a couple grains of salt.

Forums. Whatever...

It truly is one of the best parts of retirement...a few friends and individuals notwithstanding. Not being around or part of a group of pilots is a plus. These types of boards just emphasize the point.

In all fairness, with industry change, organized labor in private, corporate America slowly going the way of the dodo bird and technology eventually taking over for pilots at some future point, I'm not surprised some are "confused.";)

I guess those "confused" just don't know anything about deregulation.:D

Is it confusing to be retired and still hang around a forum filled with individuals that have their whole careers ahead of them. You can't call the young pilots confused when they saw what your generation/group did and what was left them to fix. They want more and better like you did "back in the day". You know - bright eyed and optimistic.

Quotes and a "wink?"...what's not to understand?...never mind.

2 things:

1. Why are we still talking about a contract extension on a public forum accessible to any Tom, Dick, and Harry?

2. Why on God's green earth is a retired CA still hanging out on pilot forums? In one breath you say the best part of retirement is not having to be around us any more yet you still spend your free time hanging around us?

Moderators, please shut down this and all future contract discussion/extension threads. It'll help us who are still in this job do better.

...albeit on a different board, management never copied posts to use them against the pilot group in a lawsuit.

I'm not against web discussions about contract negotiations, but it is true they, Company, do look at them.

But more importantly they keep accurate records of contractural waving, disregard and other metrics to support their requests.
