Default Contract extension

Anyone know if the 2 year contract negotiations deadline is still the original 45 day period? I believe it was Nov 20th? Didn't know if the sidelining of OM was an issue.

Still on line based on company statements around the quarterly earning press stuff. Union hasn't sent out anything to counter it either. So, I'll assume, yeah I know, they are meeting in closed negotiations as I type.

How successful they are will be known soon enough.

From a reliable source (not TK or LCA ...) Negotiations are ongoing; look for an unscheduled MEC meeting as an indicator of something.
Then we can all finally see, and vote on this peach.

I read a message from ORD LEC that the extension was a no go and we weren't entertaining it and that discussing it on a public forum weakens our standing as a pilot group.

You're first statement is correct in that we shouldn't even be entertaining an extension but sadly we are. Second statement is right on the money.

Exactly. Talk like this is harmless but go look at the thread on the UAL forum. Any management insider or rat could gather a lot of data on how to proceed and break us apart just by that thread alone. I vote that this and any subsequent contract/extension threads be killed by the moderators.

Excellent post, from a new hire at that. You ready to run for MEC chair? No sarcasm intended.

Thanks, but I've flown with union guys. I appreciate what they do but have no desire to work that hard on layovers and days off. That's why I retired from the military.

Come on, ALPA doesn't have SAPR training.
