Classic union/company negotiations. Attack a small group that can't out vote the masses. I would hope our union wouldn't sell out the reserves. Not in this environment...
|
Why don't we all just wait for an official email from the union before we attack them? They might not even put anything out to vote.

Rumor control post. I Heard the union caved on reserve rules. (No penalty for SC's and FS's greater than 2 for a 13% DOS and 3% next 2 years. Essentially removing LC reserve from the equation. I am sure this is a small part of the whole deal, but if this is remotely true, it is a no vote here. If anyone can shed more light, it would obviously be welcomed. Thx...

Dear United Pilots, The abbreviated period of negotiations has come to a close and I am pleased to announce that today, we reached an Agreement in Principle (AIP) for a two year extension to the United Pilot Agreement. The guidance that we received through polling, surveys and emails mandated that, in addition to industry leading compensation, we look for improvements without any offsets (concessions). This AIP, as a primarily economic package, comports with that guidance. A special meeting of the MEC has been called for this weekend to brief them on the AIP. The process thereafter requires that we draft final language which is likely to take at least two to three weeks. Then, it will be presented to the MEC for their consideration as a Tentative Agreement (TA). It’s understandable that you have a desire for more details, and should the MEC accept the TA and send it out for membership ratification, we commit to giving you full contract language as well as all supporting documentation. I encourage you to remain connected by watching for additional updates and speaking with your Local Council representatives for the latest information. We are United, Captain Jay Heppner Chairman, United Master Executive Council |
If this doesn't pass, Ineptner and the entire negotiating committee should resign.

So do I, but I also recall the language Heppner used to describe the UPA....so call me cynical until demonstrated otherwise.

You don't give up all that experience for a deal that falls short. This is knee-jerk stupidity that gets posted after every failed deal. |
