Per Diem??

"File your tax return as early as possible. This is probably the best move you can make to avoid tax fraud. As soon as you receive your W-2s, 1099s and other documents, complete and submit your tax return (electronically) to the IRS. If you can beat the criminals to the punch, and your legitimate return is filed first, any subsequent fraudulent return filings will be rejected. The IRS will likely begin to accept filings in late January, so encourage your employer and other organizations that issue your tax documents to get it done early, allowing you to file before the criminals."

Data looks pretty solid too which is a surprise… also like how it presents the data so you can input into the IRS 2106 tax form. For the tax prep challenged you input the "City Amount" from the last page of the report into Part 1 line 5 of the 2106. Then you enter the nontaxable amount of "Per Diem Paid" from your W-2 (also listed on report), "L" in box 12, into block 7 for the 2106… do the subtractions and use the 80% reduction of the balance from Step 3 line 9...

Wondering if anyone minds sharing what kind of deduction you are getting from per diem. I know you can take 80% of the difference but I just started at UA in September and would have to manually go through all my layovers from last job from last year. I know there are people who will calculate if for you but since I don't have access to my old employer's computer system I would have to try to get a report from them or do it all from my pilot logbook. Just trying to ballpark if it's worth the time and effort....
Thanks!
Thanks!

But as a example: before I hit AMT it was always consistently worth several hundred dollars a year in TurboTax.
YMMV.
