NAI is small potatoes. The nightmare scenario is Emirates setting up a "European carrier" in northern Europe, or, wait for it............JFK. 50/50 joint venture with Jet Blows. Or, both.

Once the precedent is set, there is nothing that can stop it. Things are going to change.

Here we go again. Its all the govt fault. Big business and CEOs to blame. American consumers are to blame. If you don't think about every major purchase you make, and how it will hurt good paying jobs, you are to blame. Everyone wants a deal. Americans are proud of deals and discounts. Yet they wonder where high paying jobs are going. Buy a full fair ticket once in awhile. Advise friends and neighbors how spending just a bit more on that ticket to Europe has a lasting effect on good paying jobs. Down with NAI, Allegiant, Spirit, and all other disgraceful carriers. Have some self respect and go to a carrier or job that pays you what your worth.

There is a lot we can do and are doing. The European pilots are up for and key to the ME3 fight. That battle will be won or lost in Europe.

Good luck with that.... you are in the industry so your awareness is hypersensitive. 90% of Americans don't even think about the airlines until they need to go visit grandma in Germany and then they go on Expedia and look for the cheapest fare. There will always be a market for people to fly across country for cheaper than the cab ride from manhattan to JFK. It's really our govt's job to make sure they operate safely and in compliance with the laws that all the companies are required to observe.

Airlines realize this and that is the reason they are built to obtain and retain frequent fliers as they pay the bills. At DAL it's something like 15% of customers pay over 85% of all the airlines revenue.

No, my friend... The idiot is the one who doesn't know the difference between your and you're. President Obama has his faults, but he's doing a hell of a lot better than anyone else who ran would have these last 7 years, or anyone who's running for the next 4. If you can't see that, it's because you don't want to.

I'm definitely a Democrat, and I do believe in Government, but I will say that market forces are VERY powerful things. I don't really know that any one person, even a US President, can stop the steamrolling effects of airlines that are so heavily subsidized.

Exactly. That's why its so amusing when the sycophants of the GOTP rail about Obama this and Obama that. They're the proponents and supporters of the billionaires who run the Corporations that currently own the majority party in Congress.
