Sorry... but the Texan in me is out of control.

BTW, the 2 hour drive sure is better than the SAT-ORD commute I did 15 years ago. That was not great.
I should know that (y'all). And yes...commuting blows....but I just don't see driving THAT far, especially after an all nighter or int'l trip. I'd end up sound asleep like Sparky in that station wagon.

And you'll never need to study for that widebody bid .

Never say never. If we plus up NB there successfully as planned/hoped, I could see more small WBs ultimately serving major foreign population centers. 787s or maybe 767s (we already serve Tokyo from there right?). Easier to add new flights from DEN than EWR/ORD/SFO.

Whoops, thread derailed. Sorry, back on subject.

Sled.....Looks like you need to up your "Kiddee Wading Pool" exercise routine. Maybe invite all your buds over for Coors "Marco Polo"!? Although on short call you may have to play in your uniforms in order to ensure a CBA compliant response. 😁

Two ways that I know of to ease the stress of a commute.

1.) Buy a ticket. I know this runs against the grain for most of us, but there some amazingly cheap tickets out there if you are a line holder and can plan in advance.

2.) Get a crash pad for you and your wife, and leave a car there. Make sure that it is a dedicated parking lot and not free for all street parking. Legally you are required to register the car there, but many commuters do not. Don't get caught.

Especially if you are both on short call, it will make the whole thing less stressful. I know that it is expensive, but when I was commuting it greatly reduced my stress level.

Commuting that bad? Does United have a commuter policy?

Huh, did I miss something? When did we have to have a car at a crash pad? Legally car??

I don't think we have to have a car if I don't commute. Where did you get this from? Public transit??

Auburn is awesome. In the foothills, above the fog, below the snow. 2 hours to SFO and 1.5 to Tahoe. That was where I planned to reside until life happened and we ended up in NW Florida. Still have a 2.3 acre lot there adjoining the AUN airport with a view of the Sierras...if you are interested!

So if there are no 787 crews based in DEN who flies that route? Do SFO/ORD/IAH etc. crews deadhead to DEN to fly it?
