now for my IAH-SFO commute comment:
https://cdn2.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/Paa...-is-fine.0.jpg

Losing IAH-LOS hurt
going from 3 IAH-LHR flights a day on 787/767 to 2 IAH-LHR a day on 777s hurt
IAH economy being less good hurts
needing longer range capability aircraft out of SFO hurt

Long story short, shrinking IAH and growing SFO and most current routes out of IAH don't need ultra long range, means IAH 787 staffing is too high!!

That's a distinct possibility as well. I'm actually surprised they didn't do the displacement before putting out a bid with 40 IAH 777 FOs on it. But we just get paid to fly the planes!

Gotcha, localized IAH overstaffing... Good luck.

Has anything official been announced regarding when the 737-700 deliveries start? All I heard is 2017 but nothing more specific. Did you read somewhere that we start deliveries in the summer?

Pilot Hiring Q&A being handed out at OBAP says deliveries of 65 737-700s begin August 2017.

I like to slam manpower as much as anybody, but i think a lot of it the last couple of years is network planning changing their plan faster than manpower can staff it. Fewer fleet types would make it simpler, but instead of simplifying we are maintaining an overly complicated fleet structure.

The only "good" thing is DAL's and AMR's fleets are a bigger yard sale than ours.

It's about time they start displacements on the overstaffed fleets... Sooner we get to a stable and accurate system wide seniority list the better for everyone.

However you slice it we are whipsawed by incompetence and stupidity from above and the consequences of those actions continue to affect us.
