Looks like manpower didn't get the movment out of iah they wanted. Expect a small displacement they say. I would think its going to go senior.
So why not go sfo 747 for a yr then bid back iah787 in a yr?
Or, iah 737ca . Looks like we might get a few more departures in iah with the 700s coming next summer.

If they thought anybody was going to bid out and incur a freeze, or wait for a displacement with all the attendant benefits and no freeze, they're nuts.
Has anything official been posted?

Yesterday's IAH LSC update.
787 Manpower
The 787 is a good news, bad news situation currently. As opposed to other fleets, September is the peak flying month for the 787. Total credit hours are up, and IAH is flying the SFO-TPE base crew (not IRO). The bad news is they did not see the attrition they wanted in recent vacancies. The latest word we have received from the SSC is that the company is looking at a small 787 displacement in the near future. The company is cautious in using displacements, as they cannot control where people displace to, and the UPA intentionally makes them expensive by granting you additional rights. If and when a displacement occurs we will make sure you have all the information you need to make an informed decision.

All 787 FOs in IAH can hold SFO 747 FO, so that would be an option for any bumped pilot or volunteer.
All but the most junior guy could hold 737 CA in SFO, so most bumped folks or volunteers could go there (assuming they will bump more than 1 guy)
All but the most junior 3 guys could hold 737 CA in EWR, so most bumped folks or volunteers could go there (assuming they will bump more than 3 guys)
So, anybody that is interested in getting a "no freeze" transfer to a 737 Captain would likely have those two options. Not sure how long it would take for openings in IAH on 737 CA, but if you took the bump to 737 CA elsewhere, and then got a lateral back to IAH you still wouldn't have a freeze!

Serious question: Aren't we getting MORE 787's? Are the block hours down or something? How did we get too many pilots on the fleet, was it the -300 orders? Thanks... New guy here.
