Any one know if day one is critical? I received invite for Friday, day two, but didn't know if I should still attend day one.

I think Day 1 is a general briefing. Day 2 is definitely the bigger deal. Congrats!

Word I got from UAL was that if you are a day 2 guy that you didn't need to be there for day 1. On day 2 you will get all of th info as those on day 1 in addition to the one on ones.

So from what I have read, day 1 is business casual and no resumes. Day 2 is business attire and resumes.

I got a Thurs AM invite. My availability is March 2018. 2400TT, 2200 TPIC, military only - single piloted aircraft.

Is it safe to assume that a guy might be wasting his time and money spent traveling if you got the day one invite but with no mention of a one on one, and no mention of day two?

Yes, I think it would be a waste to come from somewhere far to attend day 1. Heck, I would almost question coming for Day 2 if you had to come from the East coast. It isnt an interview, just a meeting with a recruiter.

Signed,

someone who hasnt been hired anywhere

That's a tough call. If your availability is soon then I would go if it is easy and cheap for you to get there. In the end you were picked from a group of people and your attendance alone would show extra interest. If your availability date is in 2018 I probably wouldn't waste my time if I didn't have the one-on-one with the recruiter.

For those who were selected for day two one on ones, have you ever met with United at another job fair like OBAP or WAI and had the one on one?
