Thanks Yuko! Don't go insane volunteering...just have one or two good ones that show you are more than just work...

Appreciate the advice!

Day 2. I just got the invite to the hiring process today. I have a 1 Apr available date in my app.

Congrats, and good luck. By invite to the hiring process, do you mean the Hogan?

Day 2 dude here, keep updating but crickets so far. I'm Guard, supervisory pilot/check airman for a 135 outfit on the civvy side w/two weeks notice availability.

Guess I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Guys, I just did that thing where you forget to update your medical. Don't be like me, I've been out of the running for five weeks. :(

I was in the Day 1 group-went in with an April '17 avail date. I enjoyed the event and think it went far at dispelling some rumors, as well as helped focusing my app. Things changed (positive) and last week I pushed out my date to 2018, followed by the "6 months out" email yesterday! Looking forward to starting the process this Fall. Retiring AF O6. Sq CC/DO, Safety, 2 masters w/ some volunteer time.

Congrats. The retired O6 CC/DO/Safety seems to be the commonality of the 6 month out email. What is your recency of flying experience?

Jetrunner 02-19-2017 03:09 PM

I'm current, hanging around 140 for 12 months. Sent you a PM.

I don't know who all is getting the 6 month emails...but I got one as a retiring O-5. However, I did share the Sq/CC and Safety boxes checked...so perhaps that is the common thread???

Day 1 guy & got called 6 months out

I was a Day 1 guy, received an invite for the Hogan 5 1/2 Mo prior to my available date, and got an interview date for Mar (about 6 weeks after Hogan complete). I made sure my app was updated every 2 weeks and kept medical current. No issues with the Hogan, I just tried to provide sincere, consistent answers (they seem to ask similar things different ways). Here is my data if that helps anybody: Ok undergrad GPA, 2x Graduate degrees with high GPA, O-6, Safety, DO, SQ/CC, OG/CC, heavy and fighter time, IP in 3 aircraft, FCF and EP in single engine fighter. 4K Total time, 3K PIC, 2K ME. Last flew military in 2015 but flew 103 hours in C-172 in last year. So not sure if the "more complex than 172" is really valid. But in the app I did say I "flew XXX hours in last year and XXX in complex turbine in last 24 months", so maybe that helped. I had not done any "volunteer" stuff until Sep 16 when I signed up for 3x professional aviation related organizations. I'm using Emerald Coast for interview prep...so if I get a job offer after the interview I will follow up with success of fail. I have not heard a peep from Delta (other than email saying my app had errors), UPS, FedEx, or SW where I also applied. Best of Luck to All the Transition'ers!!!

If you haven't had your interview yet, good luck sir.

I'm still hanging in there, but in comparison to your background, I might as well be the one flying 172s!
