Because I see ALPA PAC as ineffective I have decided not to waste any more money there. We can contribute 100 percent of our monthly check to it. It doesn't seem to help. Perhaps ALPA PAC has the wrong model..... If ALPA PAC is the best we got, then I am afraid we need to figure something else out.

I am interested in another "lobby" or another vehicle that can perhaps supplement ALPA in pursuing global and international objectives in raising the bar in our profession.

If a rag tag group of geriatric pilots can drive results that what about a highly motivated group?

ALPA may be hamstrung by all of their buerocracy and internal conflicts of interest.
They essentially weren't lobbying against anyone, much less giant corporations with deep pockets like Boeing.

Let's see, Reagan invaded tiny Grenada to detract attention from the Iran/Contra mess. HW Bush started Desert Storm to detract from his "read my Lips" mess. "W" used Weapons of Mass Destruction to detract from his mess. Will Trump use a WAR to detract from his MANY mis-steps? Let's hope to god not. especially with China. FWIW is there a pattern here?

And that attitude amongst the 70-80% who wont cough up a dime is why.

Did you even go so far as to write/email/call your reps on NAI? Don't need to answer, it doesn't matter. Point is can you honestly say to yourself you tried? Facebook reposts don't count.

As far as contract maintenance, negotiations, and enforcement, ALPA is doing Ok there.
It gets really old listening to pilots like you who blame ALPA instead of dealing with reality.

Guess what? We live in a capitalistic democratic society in which the average person makes $50k, dislikes unions and hates airlines even more and you think ALPA-PAC is ineffective. WRONG! We are outgunned and most pilots don't even like the fact that they are dependent upon their union for making a decent living.

But please let us know when you figure out your majic political solution. I for one am all ears and wait with unbridled anticipation for your cure for all that ails the piloting profession.

If we are talking tactics we played the game wrong. DOT is at the pleasure of the CInC and we were talking to congress.

It would seem that a productive first step would be for all US airlines (union and not) to put out a letter stating that if you work as a pilot for NAI, you will never be hired at a US major or regional carrier. I would hope no carrier would allow them to Jumpseat, but that should also be stated.

The letter should be distributed to every regional and flight school.

They are already planning on having the largest bases in the US for non-US based carriers. (Starting with FLL and NY)

Making hiring pilots from our country difficult to impossible should be one of our collective goals. We can take our own action without help from our worthless congress.

Just a thought.

I will personally treat any NAI pilot as a scab.

It was way up prior to the approval.

Today's bump probably has much more to do with the Mech TA.
