Give him a break. There is little in the thread to indicate that today's drop is in reference to the current class.

flyer, you won't find out which aircraft or bases are available to you until after you get to TK for indoc. EWR and SFO 737 are almost always available, nothing else is for sure.

Never

Of course I would buy him a beverage of his/her choice on a layover - welcome half-winger

Quality of life will be much better for a commuter on the 737 vs 756 as a half winger. This has been discussed in depth multiple times. The rare few that are happy getting the 756 as a new hire typically live in base and don't mind sitting reserve in their PJs at home.

Default A320 vs 737

Sounds like a big difference between 757 and 737 for a new hire, what about A320 and 737? Are they pretty much same type trips/rsrv ?

Short answer is

A320 - If you care more about comfort when flying. MUCH nicer cockpit, more limited in where it flies.

737 - If where you are flying to is more important than being comfortable while you get there. A/C is a POS but WAY better variety of flying and typically longer legs.
