Kudos on Polaris

Exactly, my gf who works for LUS biggest grumble is all the 70s/80s/90s hires that stick around year after year and only complain about everything and make life difficult for the passengers. It's no wonder it's been such a uphill battle to defeat foreign carriers because we have old, fat woman slinging peanuts audibly griping while a younger generation who still has enthusiasm, hasn't been furloughed sits in reserve wanting to make a difference. For those who fly international, pay attention to the small things like, how is the flight attendant closing the bins? One hand slam or walking up to each and every bin with two hands gently closing them? It's stuff like that makes a difference in passengers eyes.
I thought we got rid of those about 2 decades ago...that's the problem!!

I've never seen a shortage of bedding on flights. I've opened up the bins above the FC seats and found it full of the gel pillows and other assorted bedding. I don't know if you've seen the email but the company is asking FAs not to take these items off the plane and to ask customers to leave behind... I guess they are supposed to tell passengers via PA to only take the amenity kits.

While you may be right that MOST of the time this is not an issue, it should never happen IMO.

First week or two, they encouraged people to keep the items, then made a 180. I purchased a Polaris ticket in December and would not have been happy if I wasn't able to use it. Especially after United sent me numerous emails about how I was going to love the service.

Management apparently changed their minds about giving the Polaris swag away after they realized it would cause systemwide shortages. Now, they ask the cabin crew not to encourage passengers from taking the items. Unfortunately many international flights are short of a full compliment from what I've experienced.

I've flown on Cathay, and didn't like them at all.
I've had one great service flight on an American carrier. Realized that all the FAs were from TPE...no US FAs on the flight...that was why it was so great.
Generally, I find the ME and Asian carriers the best, overall
My favourite airline of all is Qatar, because of the service and the food, and the entertainment options. I just flew a leg on them in Coach, and the service and food were much better than a typical First/Biz class on an American carrier. Also, I flew a leg on a -380 in coach, and the seat was MUCH better than the coach seat of any other aircraft I have flown in.
Note: I have NOT flown on Thai, and don't have much experience on Singapore.
Also: I am now trying to fly less on AA, and more on UAL, for my domestic flights...problem is, ORD is often terrible, due to the fact that ORD and the FAA let the US carriers scheduled unlimited flights through ORD, so they are WAY over capacity. Any little hiccup, and it is a disaster...
