Just flew with a 5yr FO who bid over to the 320 recently. Was tired of being 70%+ on the 756 vs 14% on the 320. Better QOL for the same hourly rate (seeing the bigger a/c on a regular basis on the 756 is a pipe dream if you're junior).

Guessing not that great, probably make more just racking up short calls. To make guarantee you have to do about 13 days of flying. You only have 18 to do it and there are not that many trips in general and not that many open.

You will make more as a line holder in the 737 than a reserve on the 756.

for another perspective, I went straight to the 756. I don't regret it but agree you will be on reserve and won't get to a line as fast - so you'll likely take a pay hit. Especially on the east coast it's a totally different mission if you're coming from the regionals and that can be refreshing. Though people get burnt out from LHR due to length of drive and airport security, the city and the museums and pubs just barely edge out DSM and TUL and TLH if that's all you've been doing for a long time haha. Same goes for SNN and other stuff that you might find more often on reserve. If you switch coasts SFO (and LAX maybe?) lines go a lot more jr. It's not a wide variety of flying but one leg transcons to big cities are nice if it's your thing, and it's efficient flying. In the mean time 2 years goes by pretty quickly if you want to switch and 777/787 has at times been available in under 2 years. Variety is a big plus about UAL. There's something for everyone.

-No movement on the aircraft
- Trips can be tough on the body
- No movement on the aircraft
- not enough financial incentive (hello....where's the pay?)
-Long nights and short days
-No movement on the aircraft
-Improper B767-300 pay (WTF is up with that?)
- No movement on the aircraft
- Management wants to replace it, it's a dying fleet
-No movement on the aircraft
-Some pretty challenging trips/destinations
-No movement on the aircraft
Lack of financial incentive + no movement + reduced QoL = New hires can have it!

Pretty much, except for the challenging trips/destinations. At least regarding EWR flying, rolling out on an ILS to a 10,000' runway is a ***** ain't it?

It’s not really a Cadillac. Often times it’s still the same loud hurricane as the 737 with more Ewr Marriotts. The 767 is quieter, and less annoying cockpit airflow, but the time it takes to be a lineholder with purely 67 trips is several years. Probably more than it takes to get a 777 bid. I really think it’s a mistake to take a 756 at Indoc with 737 or 320 on the board.
