I had a free ticket to see improve stand up but I rather sit here and read this thread instead

No kidding. This thread is funnier. The stories at the Improve would be more truthful.

With thrust reversers removed?

The FDX new 76s don't have the same displays as the KC. Ours have three screens that actually look a little bigger than the KC46's four. Could be an optical illusion. But ours has the standard gear handle on the F/O side. The KC gear handle looks centered and much smaller, possibly electric. The first ten or so were delivered with steam gauges and we did the Rockwell mod. The last 25 or so have been installed by Boeing before delivery.

Absolutely correct....

During new hire Indoc back in Jan we had a guy from planning come in and speak with our class (and I'm sure every class behind me). He showed us a graph which has growth aircraft out to 2025. I've already forgotten the number, maybe somebody else can recall it. He didn't say one word about what types or when. He did talk some about the process and how they determine a new aircraft order, which basically boiled down to... "we do our homework".

I know this post will receive a 1 star rating for "juicy rumor"... but I thought I'd add some realism to the farting unicorn story.

Probably the same network planning guy came into my class and said "The 777 is the best possible airframe for our network."

He then made it crystal clear that network planning doesn't buy airframes, Atlanta does.

You have not been here long enough to have learned that what the company tells you is meaningless.

I realize that... so there's no need to shoot the messenger.

You mean they can lie to us, but not us lie to them?

G550,

I see you're new to UPS.....welcome aboard!

As an 88'er, I've learned that: UPS's long range planning is an hour and a half from now. Second, UPS NEVER tells anyone what their plans are prior to officially announcing it to everyone! Third, having said that, why would UPS announce anything to a new hire class prior to informing the IPA, shareholders or official news agencies?

If their lips are moving...they're lying, deflecting or camouflaging their real intentions. I have NEVER been able to break the code to UPS's future planning. I learned to believe none of what I hear and half of what I see.

Rumors are fun! We all like to speculate. They're pretty much worthless at UPS.
